CSIS was engaged as acting in the role of Strategic Technology Advisor to a new Electronic Options Exchange in the United States - the International Securities Exchange (ISE). 

CSIS's role was to act in a review and audit function for senior exchange management as the technology solution for the ISE was put in place. This role required CSIS to review both the business and technology aspects of network and systems required for the operation of a national electronic exchange.

Specifically CSIS developed:
»  An enterprise network architecture document for the national ISE trading network and the internal operations network.
»  An independent analysis of the selected trading system covering the areas of security, deployment, performance and operations
»  A security and deployment architecture document covering the ISE national network and the trading gateway required in each members premises
»  A joint enterprise management architecture design with the prime integration partner - COMPAQ
»  A joint enterprise security architecture design with the prime integration partner - COMPAQ

ISE now operates the first fully automated stock options exchange in the US. It commenced operations in early 2000.
